My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your weekend has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
This weekend’s hormone horoscope: Dust off your jewelry, accessories and colorful outfits. Rising estrogen and testosterone make getting dressed up and accessorizing more fun! That’s because these hormones are making you more comfortable grabbing the spotlight by standing out in a crowd!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
This weekend’s hormone horoscope: High estrogen and testosterone may give you the confidence to make a demand you were too nice or afraid to make before. For instance, I’m in my Week 2 and I finally laid down the law with my family, friends and neighbors about my nickname: If “Gabrielle” is too long to say, don’t shorten it to “Gabi”. I know the Desperate Housewives Eva Longoria character made it seem okay to do that, but it’s not. For the record, I’ll accept “Gab” or, if you’re a hipster, “Gabs” or, if you’re an uber-hipster, “Gabster”, or if you just don’t care, “Hey you!”, but not “Gabi”. Similarly, you too may decide that you no longer want to be called a certain nickname, you no longer want to be stuck with the parking spot where the birds all poo on your car, you no longer want to be the one to have to get the office coffee every day or you no longer want to put up with something you’ve been putting up with in silence for too long.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
This weekend’s hormone horoscope: When making plans this weekend, you may choose a restaurant or event that’s sentimental, for instance, it reminds you of something your grandmother used to love or you and your sister used to do together. That’s because rising progesterone is bringing out your nurturing, emotional side so you’re enjoying a walk down memory lane even more.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
This weekend’s hormone horoscope: Expect a little clumsiness this weekend, for example, you may continually trip over an invisible bump in the rug or your text messages may be full of so many spelling errors, the recipient thinks you’re practicing you’re Mandarin. Blame goes to plunging estrogen and testosterone, which make you less coordinated as their levels drop!
