Which week are you on in your monthly cycle? Find out what it reveals about what your weekend has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen and testosterone rise
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: Once you get past the achy, tiring part of your period, you may find that you want to socialize or at least be someplace where you can watch other people nearby. That’s because as estrogen rises, it prompts you to get out of your menstrual hut and chat, mingle and connect with others.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 14 (or ovulation)
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: You may be in the mood to make a change to something that’s been the same forever, or at least the last few months, for instance, you may pick a new color theme for your computer or phone, change your bedroom rug or take a different route to your favorite hangout. With estrogen and testosterone so high, you’re bored with the same old thing and want an upgrade to something more interesting!

Week 3
Day 15 (or the day after ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then rise again
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: Be sure to not let yourself go hungry, Week 3 gal: Rising progesterone can make your blood sugar drop faster than during other weeks of your cycle, resulting in confusion, fatigue and irritability when you ignore hunger pangs. Eating small meals throughout the day or nibbling a protein-rich snack, like string cheese or nuts, will help even out your blood sugar, which keeps your brain sharp, your energy up and prevents your mood from suddenly going south.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone plunge
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: With your powers of concentration on the downswing as estrogen and testosterone plunge, you may want to take extra precautions to avoid distractions while working if you want to get anything done this weekend, for instance, turn off your text message and email alerts and hang a “do not disturb” sign on your door.
