My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your weekend has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen and testosterone rise
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: If it’s early in your Week 1, then menstruation may make you a bit tired and drained due to a loss of pep-boosting iron. But if it’s the latter half of your Week 1, expect rising estrogen and testosterone to rev your engines and give you a motivation-pumping rise in energy. In fact, this energy lift may be so intense, you may feel a bit on edge or jittery, especially after a cup of your usual caffeine infusion!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: Some may call you stubborn this weekend as you dig your heels in and refuse to budge on issues or opinions. High estrogen and testosterone are making you confident about where you stand and not caring about what happens if you don’t give an inch!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then rise again
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: You’ll likely notice that you’re not speaking as eloquently as you did during Weeks 1 and 2 when estrogen was climbing. Now that this hormone dips to a lower level and memory-fogging progesterone rises, it’s more difficult to remember the exact word you want to say, get sentences out without stumbling over your words and avoid frequently pausing and/or saying “um” and “ah”.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone plunge
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: As estrogen and testosterone plunge, you prefer to stick to the oldies but the goodies, the tried and true and the proven over the experimental. So, you’ll be happiest eating foods you love, watching movies you’ve already seen and hanging out with folks you know well. The reason? These plunging hormones decrease your confidence and openness about experiencing something new and make you more critical of anything out-of-the-ordinary.
