My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your weekend has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen and testosterone rise
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: As estrogen and testosterone rise this weekend, you’ll probably feel like you are so over last week’s low-hormone slow-down and just want to jump head-first into projects and take on all the to-dos you set aside. Just be careful of overloading your plate too fast and taking on too many tasks at once. There’s a chance that if you get overwhelmed by starting too many projects, you could lose your steam and find yourself back at square one with nothing accomplished.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: Give yourself a reminder to talk more slowly around the men-folk this weekend. High estrogen and testosterone are making you speak faster than during any other week in your cycle. While other women won’t have a problem with your quick pace, most men—who have fewer language processing centers in their brain—will be left in the dust.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then rise again
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: Doughnuts, cookies, chocolate, oh my! Is there no diet resolution rising progesterone won’t try to make you break this weekend? Not unless you resolved to up your annual Thin Mint consumption, there isn’t.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone plunge
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: It may be difficult to make a new start this weekend—such as launching a new project, attending a new class or heading to a party where you meet new people—as estrogen and testosterone plunge, bringing down brain chemicals that energize and motivate you. But, making a new start isn’t impossible.  Just know that you’ll have less natural oomph, so you’ll have to push yourself to move forward just a bit more than in other weeks of your cycle. However, once you see the results of your efforts—making progress in your task, learning something new or meeting someone interesting—you’ll experience a natural rise in feel-good brain chemicals that make taking the next steps a whole lot easier.
