My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your weekend has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
This weekend’s hormonescope: Woe to the Week 1 gal who doesn’t get the heck out of the house and do something fun this weekend. Rising play-loving estrogen will be filling you full of regret if you pass up the opportunity to participate in social events, hang with your buds or go see Jennifer Aniston in Wanderlust before Monday comes ’round again.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
This weekend’s hormonescope: You’re likely going to be gussying yourself up a bit more this weekend, for instance, by putting more time into your hair, dabbing on more makeup, putting on more jewelry and wearing your favorite form-fitting, leg-showing, cleavage-revealing outfit. But, who can blame you? With estrogen and testosterone peaking, you’re in the mood to flirt up a storm and catch the attention of anyone within a 100-foot radius!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
This weekend’s hormonescope: This weekend, mellowing, play-it-safe progesterone makes you more comfortable around small gatherings than large crowds, has you preferring quiet, intimate cafes to oversized, noisy restaurants and makes you want to stick closer to home rather than travel far for food or entertainment.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
This weekend’s hormonescope: Did you check out Week 1’s weekend hormonescope? Well, that feeling of regret that makes you wonder why you didn’t have fun on when you had the opportunity nudges at you, too. The reason? As estrogen plunges, it makes you more self-reflective and a tad negative. As a result, you’re apt to think back to all the weekends you passed up a good time in order to work, clean, take care of responsibilities and do other obvious non-essentials—and it has you a little ticked off! In response, you may blow off a chore or two to finally fit in some much-needed fun, for instance, by heading to an amusement park, the mall or a movie.
