Which week are you on in your monthly cycle? Find out what it reveals about what your weekend has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen and testosterone rise
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: You may decide to try new versions of items you already love, for instance, a new scent of your favorite shampoo or a new flavor of a much-loved frozen yogurt. That’s rising estrogen’s influence. As this hormone climbs, it inspires you to explore and try something new. But, since this hormone is still relatively low in your  Week 1 (compared to how high it gets in Week 2), it hasn’t pushed you into daredevil territory just yet, so you tend to be more comfortable exploring new twists on familiar things.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 14 (or ovulation)
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: You’ll likely notice it’s easier to stay up far later than you usually do, withstand a more intense workout and pile more work on your plate. Credit goes to rising estrogen and testosterone, which ratchet up energy, alertness and endurance as they climb!

Week 3
Day 15 (or the day after ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then rise again
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: Unlike Week 2 gals, you may notice it takes extra effort to stay awake, you’re less inspired to do a grueling workout and you can barely make it through the first to-do on your list this weekend. Blame goes to rising progesterone (a sedating hormone) coupled with lower levels of estrogen and testosterone–a hormonal combination that takes away your oomph!

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone plunge
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: You could end up getting the urge to cancel plans you had for dinner, drinks or other social events and prefer to stay home or do something quiet and comforting instead. That’s because as estrogen plunges, it’s making you less interested in connecting with folks, it’s dinging your self-confidence in your appearance and it’s bringing down your energy. Plus, it’s making you more easily annoyed by crowds, noise, smells and other problems you’re bound to encounter in the outside world.
