My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your weekend has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
This weekend’s hormone horoscope: Try a new flavor of ice cream, a new kind of pizza slice, a new color nail polish, a new weekend activity or anything else that’s new. As estrogen and testosterone rise throughout Week 1 and Week 2, they make produce an even bigger buzz of feel-good brain chemicals when you break out of ruts and do something different!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
This weekend’s hormone horoscope: Careful, Week 2 gal: This weekend, you could be at risk of suffering an injury. The reason? You’re so sped up and easily excited by high estrogen and testosterone that you’re likely to proceed without caution when doing something potentially dangerous, such as using tools, handling hot baking pans or working with cleaning chemicals. While you probably won’t heed this word of warning (high estrogen and testosterone can make you pretty over-confident about your abilities), I still feel it’s my duty to advise you to slow down while doing anything that could cause harm!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
This weekend’s hormone horoscope: It will probably take a lot of effort for you to get you out to a nightclub, party, concert or other spot that’s loud, crowded, noisy and smelly. And, once you’re there, you’ll likely want to make it an early night. The problem is rising progesterone coupled with lower levels of estrogen and testosterone. Together, this combo lowers your energy level, makes you less interested in socializing and makes all the loud, crowded, smelly entertainment you loved in Week 2 seem a lot less appealing now.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
This weekend’s hormone horoscope: A headache, back ache, allergies, a cold or other discomfort may make you want to stay in this weekend. The problem is plunging estrogen, which can cause flare-ups of chronic conditions and make you more vulnerable to aches, pains and viruses. If you’ve got somewhere you need to be, say,you have tickets to a baseball game, try babying your body and taking pre-emptive medication or treatments if you can.
