Estrogen and progesterone plunge: If you run into a problem during your premenstrual Week 4, there’s a good chance you could become more agitated or worried about it than you would in other cycle weeks. That’s a side effect of plunging estrogen: As the level of this hormone drops, it leads to a decrease in levels of brain chemicals that maintain a good mood, so you’re more prone to having a negative outlook and getting more easily frustrated. To avoid becoming overwhelmed by an unexpected problem, try to remember that your hormones could be making you see the worst possible scenario, then try to think of ways the issue could be resolved positively. Or, talk with a trusted pal to get an outsider’s opinion. Find out more by downloading the Hormone Horoscope App.
