Update your profile photo in Week 2!

My HormonologyBeen planning to post a new photo of yourself on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or another website? Take the photo during Week 2 of your cycle (which starts 8 days after the first day of your period). Thanks to high estrogen, your facial features are slightly more symmetrical and feminine, your skin tone is more even and you have a healthy glow.

Want to make your photo even better? Set the camera on a timer if you’re doing a self-portrait and step away a few feet or tell the photographer taking your pic to take a few steps back. In a study out of the California Institute of Technology, study volunteers consistently rated photos of faces taken more than four feet away as more trustworthy, competent and attractive than those taken just two feet away. Turns outs, close-up shots create subtle warping of facial features while medium- and long-range shots capture your beauty perfectly.
