Which week are you on in your cycle?
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormone-cast: It doesn’t take a lot to excite you these days. Rising estrogen and testosterone are like the flame touching the fuse that lights the bomb of exuberance. So, you’re more likely to yell, scream, shout and guffaw when you hear great news, stumble across a fantanstic deal or watch your favorite baseball team win a home opener (go Rays!).
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormone-cast: Watch your wallet today. High testosterone makes you impulsive and high estrogen makes you feel as if you have money to burn, so you may end up over-tipping at lunch (18% is still generous), doling out dollars for those sketchy-looking donation boxes at the gas station (it’s best to send your donations straight in to the organizations) or splurging on a $15 nail polish (truth is, most nail polish companies get their color mixes from the same factories, so a less expensive version will look just as smashing).
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormone-cast: Add in a little wiggle room when planning your schedule today and all during Week 3. Rising progesterone is sapping your momentum, which slows you down. As a result, you could end up late for important meetings, classes and appointments if you don’t allow time for dawdling.
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormone-cast: It’ll be harder for folks to pull the wool over your eyes today. Plunging estrogen is making you see the world as less rosy-colored, so you’re on the alert. Plus, as this hormone descends, your thoughts turn inward, putting you more in tune with your intuition, which research shows is likely your subconscious piecing together results and experiences from the past to help point out the right choices to take and people to believe in the present.
