Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: This is the week to consider signing up for a new class, for instance, yoga, meditation, belly dancing, hoola hooping, horseback riding, fire baton swirling, whatever you’ve been meaning to try. Rising estrogen is boosting your desire for fun and novelty, and rising testosterone is making you feel more confident about meeting new people and trying new things.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Don’t be surprised if by the end of the day you end up with a new nail polish, magazine, Snickers bar, hand lotion or any other little item you’ve passed by on your way to the cash register.  Today’s rising testosterone is making you more impulsive, leading to last-minute mini-splurges.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: With rising progesterone bringing out your nurturing side, you may end up feeling a bit guilty about not spending enough time with those who crave your affection and attention, like your mate, kids, friends or pets. As a result, you may carve out an extra 10 minutes, half hour, even a whole day, to spend quality time with your special someones.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Finding it harder to hear what someone is saying to you in a crowded restaurant, yelling to you from across the room or whispering to in your ear today? One reason could be due to plunging estrogen. A recent study reveals that estrogen enhances a woman’s ability to hear. So, when it dips like it does today, it stands to reason that your hearing becomes less finely tuned.
