My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Today’s hormone horoscope: As estrogen rises today, it makes you open to trying new ways of doing things, for instance, you might download a different web browser, download an app from your bank that helps you track your spending while on the go, update an old recipe to make it healthier or rearrange your furniture to make the room more comfortable.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormone horoscope: Friends, family or coworkers may accuse you of being a tad obsessed about something or someone today. For instance, you may dive headlong into a project, plot to exact revenge on a company that did you wrong or set your sights on snagging a date with a certain cutie. Credit (blame?) for the single-mindedness goes to high estrogen and testosterone, which make you more emotional about issues while also upping your energy and determination to take action about them!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormone horoscope: Today your voice becomes a bit more monotone, your smile is a little smaller and you may be using fewer hand gestures. That’s because as sedating progesterone rises, it brings down your emotional energy and makes you a tad less expressive than you were during the first two weeks of your cycle.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of your cycle
Today’s hormone horoscope: You might want to step away from the full-length mirror. Plunging estrogen is bringing down the confidence you have in your appearance, making you pretty sure someone swapped your usual mirror with one straight from a funhouse. (This advice goes double with those awful magnifying makeup mirrors. And triple for any mirror in a department store dressing room!) Want an easy way to feel great about your body? Go for a walk! University of Florida researchers found that doing as few as 10 minutes of brisk walking, bike riding, swimming or other exercise three days per week makes your confidence about your body soar even if you don’t lose an ounce. Chalk it up to a curious brain quirk: Even just a little exercise makes you feel like you look fitter, which instantly improves your self-image!
