My HormonologyWhich week are you on in your cycle?

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormone-cast: You may have a spring trip on your mind today as rising estrogen and testosterone give you the urge to explore the world, or at least the parts with beaches and piňa coladas.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormone-cast: Have your eye on a certain guy? Today’s the day to catch his attention, and it’s easy: Simply sidle up close to him and say “hi”! Thanks to an abundance of estrogen, your body is pumping out loads of come-hither pheromones, scentless chemicals in your sweat that attract men like a magnet. And, since today’s high testosterone is making you bold, once you’ve got him interested, seal the deal by getting his digits or asking him on a date!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormone-cast: If you’re feeling blue or weepy for no reason, it may be progesterone’s fault. When this hormone rises, like it does today, it can cause a down mood in women who are sensitive to it. Other less sensitive gals will feel a general sense of calm. Regardless of your hormone sensitivity, you can perk up your mood by doing activities that increase feel-good brain chemicals, such as shopping, exercising and enjoying your favorite hobby.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormone-cast: With estrogen descending, you become more susceptible to allergies, aches and pains and flare-ups of chronic illnesses. So, stock up on the remedies or medications you use to combat these problems so you’ll be ready when they arise.
