My HormonologyWhich week are you on in your cycle?

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: As estrogen and testosterone rise this week, you’re going to feel lighter, happier and more carefree. However, this doesn’t mean you’re going to feel this way 100% of the time. Truth is, your good mood is a general trend. But, it can be spoiled by any of the usual mood-crushers, like skipping meals, getting into a fender bender and watching your sweetie put the empty milk carton back in the fridge for the umpteenth time. The good news is that once you’re past these little bumps in the road, rising hormones promise to get you feeling cheery quickly once again.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: High estrogen and testosterone are making you chatty, dramatic, easily excited and flirtatious. As a result, you may be too distracted by your big plans, amazing encounters and must-share insights to notice other people’s hidden messages that they’re trying desperately to get across to you, for instance, that a friend definitely does not want to go over and talk to a hottie, your sister definitely does not think it’s a good idea to go rollerskating after downing four margaritas and your sweetheart definitely does not want to make another sex tape after the last one somehow found it’s way onto the Internet.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You may be worried about making a financial move, even one that benefits you, like opening a high-interest savings account, buying a certificate of deposit (CD) or purchasing a better-quality home office printer over a cheaper model. Lower levels of estrogen and testosterone are decreasing your confidence about your financial picture. Yet, while conserving your cash is a good thing, passing up proven ways to grow your nest egg or opting for cheapee items that will cost you more when they break can end up causing more financial woes in the future.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Pinpoint your most productive time of day, then aim to work on the most important to-dos during that phase. Plunging estrogen and testosterone are bringing down your overall energy level so, chances are, you’ll be pooping out more quickly during the times of day when your pep naturally sags, giving you less time to get work done.
