Which week are you on in your cycle?

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You’re in the mood to break away from rules and restrictions as rising estrogen and testosterone encourage you to let out your inner rebel. As a result, you may sneak past a bouncer to get into a swanky club, head to the 10-items-or-less lane at the supermarket even though you have 12 items or get a tattoo. And not one that’s easily hidden either.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: High estrogen and testosterone are making you more confident and bold, so you’re likely to take matters into your own hands today rather than wait for help from someone else. For instance, you might fix a leaky faucet, finish a group project yourself or step in and settle an argument between two people. Just remember that sometimes you really do need help from others, for example, when putting out a fire, interrupting a burglary or getting highlights. 

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You might avoid saying what you mean or sticking up for yourself today. That’s because, as progesterone rises, it saps your energy and momentum, so you feel less like making a stink just to make a point.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Fit in time to watch your favorite TV show, sip your favorite drink, talk to your favorite people or do your favorite hobby. As estrogen plunges, surrounding yourself with people and things you know and love gives you a comforting feeling that buoys your mood.
