Week 1
First day of period to Day 7

Rising estrogen and testosterone are making you more susceptible to last-minute buys by making you impulsive and optimistic about being able to somehow pay the big bill you’re racking up.  

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You have more power and force in your muscles today as high estrogen and testosterone amp up your energy, strength and stamina. This makes it a perfect day to do some serious gardening and home improvements, participate in a sporting event or enter a dance-off competition.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Last week you were ga-ga over a super-cutie. This week you’re feeling a bit more ho-hum about your target of affection. Why the flagging feelings? Lower levels of estrogen and testosterone and rising progesterone combine to dampen your libido and reduce brain chemicals that make you easily excited.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Your libido gets a boost today and orgasms are more intense. But it’s not thanks to your testosterone, which is plunging. Instead, researchers believe the nerve endings down below are getting stimulated as your body prepares for menstruation. Consider it a parting gift from your body as you leave another cycle behind. Just one word of caution: Plunging estrogen is making it harder for your body to produce lubrication during sex, so a bottle of personal lubrication may be needed to avoid uncomfortable chafing.
