Week 1
First day of period to Day 7

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You’re launching your week on a high note! Spiking estrogen and testosterone are giving you the pep and endurance to power through any project. Bonus: They’re making you do everything faster, such as talking, typing and ordering your triple shot cappuccino (not that you need it!). Play your cards right and you could finish before Friday and snag an early weekend!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You’ll likely choose less risky options today as rising progesterone and lower estrogen make you more concerned about safety. For instance, you may slow down a bit while driving, avoid walking in sketchy areas and back down if confronted rather than stand your ground.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Pick out your most comfortable outfit today—skip the pants that pinch, the shoes that bind and the bra with that annoying underwire that pokes you in the rib. Plunging estrogen is making you more sensitive to physical pain, so those ouch-inducers will be more irritating now than during the other weeks in your cycle.
