Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormone-cast: Start a new project this weekend—for instance, plant a flowerbox, clean out your closet or redecorate. Rising estrogen and testosterone are giving you the energy to begin something new and the endurance to avoid pooping out till it’s done.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormone-cast: Make time to do something exciting tonight. If you simply go home and plop down on the couch, high estrogen and testosterone are going to make you feel guilty about missing the opportunity to go out and have some fun.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormone-cast: Rising progesterone has you feeling sedate and quiet, so you’ll enjoy a weekend where you’re diving into a good book, taking a trip to your favorite museum or going to a mellow movie on your own or with a close friend.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormone-cast: Go ahead and give in to a little shopping, a cone from Cold Stone Creamery or whatever other indulgence boosts your spirits this weekend. Plunging estrogen is making you a tad blue and irritable at times, and small treats are proven happiness lifters, triggering a surge in brain chemicals  responsible for mood.
