Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormone-cast: The energy boost you get from rising estrogen and testosterone today gives you a “second wind” about a project that you’ve been getting bored with or have been tempted to set aside. Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormone-cast: High testosterone is making you feel more ambitious, so you may feel like running for some sort of office in your school, organization, neighborhood or condo, bucking for a promotion at work, looking for a job with more authority, or starting your own business.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormone-cast: As estrogen descends this week, you may be feeling a tad worried about health problems that you swept under the rug during the past two rising estrogen weeks when confidence about your health was high. Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle

As estrogen plunges today, you become less open (and subsequently happy about) new experiences while old stand-bys give you comfort that, despite a zig-zaggy PMS mood, everything’s gonna be a-okay.
