My HormonologyWhich week are you on in your cycle?

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormone-cast: You may find it harder to keep secrets today as rising estrogen makes you chatty and rising testosterone makes you impulsive, a combination that can make juicy tidbits suddenly slip out in conversation.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormone-cast: This is the time of your cycle to be selfish in the bedroom. Ask your mate to do all the stuff you’ve been meaning to try or do the stuff you’ve tried in the past and liked, but never seem to get around to doing again. High-and-rising testosterone is going to reward your self-interest with the best orgasms of your cycle as it intensifies the physical sensation of your climaxes so they’re all-over amazing!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormone-cast: You’re more in the mood to work on your yard or your home as rising progesterone boosts your urge to feather the nest. Expecting guests? Even better since this hormone also makes you enjoy playing hostess and doting on pals with freshly baked (or at least warmed up) meals and desserts.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormone-cast: Allergies may bug you more as plunging estrogen makes you more susceptible to recurring health woes, like headaches, cold sores and asthma. If you’re not a fan of tiring allergy meds, try rinsing your sinuses with a neti pot (tip: use non-iodized salt to avoid a burning sensation), which flushes out allergens that continue to aggravate your body even after you’ve left the allergy source. And try sipping green tea (either caffeinated or decaf), which has been shown to lower allergic reactions in recent studies.
