Daily Hormone Horoscope: Wednesday, October 27, 2010

My HormonologyWhich week are you on in your cycle?

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You may feel like connecting with a friend, family member, school chum, pen pal or old colleague you haven’t spoken to in awhile. That’s because rising estrogen is making you feel chatty as well as curious about what the folks you know are up to. As a result, you may spend time scouring Facebook, Zabasearch, Pipl, Wink, iSearch and/or LinkedIn in your search.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Mix things up at lunch and dinner today by trying spicy or unusual foods. High estrogen is making your tastebuds more sensitive to flavor so you’re enjoying new taste sensations. And high testosterone is making you bold so you’re more willing to try something different this week than any other week of your cycle.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Folks who encountered you last week when high estrogen and testosterone made you a bit brash may be surprised at the tact you use today. They can thank rising progesterone and lower levels of estrogen and testosterone for your sensitivity. This hormonal combination slows you down, making you more likely to think before you speak, and it brings out your nurturing side, making you more apt to take others’ feelings into consideration.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Be careful when hanging around irritable or sarcastic people today. Plunging estrogen and testosterone are already tipping you more toward a negative mood, and research shows that the pessimistic attitude of others is actually contagious. And that can end up making your mood turn foul as well.
