My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You may come up with silly ways to entertain yourself, such as devising a new game to play with your pet or thinking up a new drinking contest. Why? Rising estrogen is pumping up feel-good chemicals in your brain that make you put a priority on having fun!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Your powers of persuasion are stellar today thanks to high estrogen and testosterone that make you think fast on your feet and turn you into an eloquent speaker. This makes it a great day to convince a salesperson to come down on a price, pitch your boss a ground-breaking idea or sweet-talk your honey into joining you on a weekend getaway.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: An issue you were unconcerned about in Week 2 of your cycle (such as changing jobs, breaking up with your partner or not getting into the school of your choice) may be harder to deal with this week. The reason? Lower levels of estrogen and testosterone put a damper on the confidence that helped you shrug off the problem. Plus, rising progesterone makes you more instrospective and, therefore, more likely to dwell on the setback.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Try not to think about regrets, like the great apartment you didn’t get, the second interview you didn’t snag or the expensive sunglasses you lost somewhere, but have no idea where. As estrogen plunges, it makes you more likely to ponder the negative events in your life. But, you can counter it by reminding yourself of the good things you have to be proud of, like the great friends you’ve made, the amazing talent you have or the utterly awesome way you tie a cherry stem in a knot with your tongue!
