Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Wednesday, November 30, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You’re texting, tweeting, posting to Facebook and chatting on the phone more this week as rising estrogen amps up your urge to connect and convey your thoughts to others.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: High estrogen is making you use higher and lower notes today and making you speak way faster. If you’re on a job interview or pitching a male boss a project, try to lower your voice a bit (to do it, simply lower your chin) and slow down. Research shows that speaking low and slow makes you sound more professional and it helps men, who have fewer language centers in their brain than women, keep up with you.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You have the opposite problem of Week 2 gals: When on a job interview or pitching an important project, try to perk up your enthusiasm, use higher notes and smile more. Rising progesterone is making you subdued, which can make you come off as bored or disinterested.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You are not in the mood for whiny adult babies today. If people expect you to coddle them after they sprain a pinky finger, soothe them after they missed a job interview because the line at Starbucks was long, or listen to them as they drone on about their family issues, they can think again. Plunging estrogen is depleting your patience and making you want to smack some sense into them and remind that they don’t have it nearly as bad as they think they do.
