Which week are you on in your cycle?
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You’ll probably notice that you’re remembering more details, picking up new information easily, speaking more eloquently and thinking faster on your feet. Credit for the sharpening brain skills go to rising estrogen and testosterone, which pump up brain power as they climb. And, good news: they continue going up, up, up all the way through the end of Week 2!
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Do all your to-dos that get you traveling, for instance, pick up the dry cleaning, shop for groceries, get your purse repaired or put air in your tires. High estrogen and testosterone are putting you in the mood to get out of the house/office/class and be on the move!
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Last week you were all sex sex sex. This week? Not so much. Testosterone is plunging, which takes the life out of your libido. And progesterone rises, which dampens what little zest you had left. Oh, you’ll get a pang of passion every now and then, but it won’t be as long lasting as it was during the first half of your cycle And if you do end up having sex, the orgasms will be seriously ho-hum compared to those in Week 1 and Week 2. Luckily, your libido rebounds in Week 4! So, for now use all the time you would have spent hunting down a bed partner to catch up on work, home projects or start a new hobby!
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You’re apt to get fired up over issues today, for instance, you may get riled over someone getting treated unfairly or you may join a protest. Why? Plunging estrogen and testosterone are taking off the optimistic rose-colored glasses you wore during the first half of your cycle so you’re less prone to sweep issues under the rug and more likely to face them head on.
