Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Wednesday, May 4, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You’re texting, tweeting, posting to Facebook and chatting on the phone more today as rising estrogen amps up your urge to connect and convey your thoughts to others!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You may be tempted to try a new hairstyle, outfit, nail polish or cosmetic today. Credit for the makeover goes to high estrogen and testosterone, which are boosting your desire to mix things up and your confidence about pulling off a new look!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Try to identify your most energetic time of day, for instance, are you rarin’ to go right out of bed or tend to hit your stride in the afternoon? Once you pinpoint the height of your daily pep, aim to do the bulk of your work and errands during those hours. Progesterone, a sedating hormone, is rising today, which makes you feel even more tired and worn out during the slower parts of the day, lowering the likelihood of getting anything productive done then.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You’re happiest sticking with food, people and activities you know well today. The reason? As estrogen and testosterone plunge, they bring down your patience with learning curves and challenging experiences. Plus, they’re making you more prone to stomachaches, headaches, pain and other discomfort, which can all arise due to new food, irritating people and activities you don’t yet know how to do well.
