Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Wednesday, May 25, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You’ll notice that your memory gets sharper, you’re thinking faster on your feet and you’re more eloquent as the days go by this week. You can thank rising estrogen and testosterone for the boost in brain and verbal skills. As they climb they improve your cognitive and speech abilities.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You may feel like making an upgrade somewhere in your life, for instance, find a better job, better friends, a better partner or even just a better place to eat lunch. High estrogen and testosterone are encouraging you to break old habits by amping up your desire to try something new and the optimism they’re giving you makes you certain that there’s something more worthwhile out there for you.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You may notice that energy you put into your career, school or start-up business begins to shift to matters closer to your heart, such as your home, friendships, partner or children. Why? As estrogen dips this week, it makes you less focused on the material world outside; and, as progsterone rises, it boosts nurturing feelings, which makes you place more importance on your personal life.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You may feel a tad clumsy today—for instance, bumping into walls, missing door handles or tripping over your own feet. The reason? Plunging estrogen and testosterone are making you a tad less coordinated and able to navigate the space around you.
