My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: As estrogen and testosterone rise this week, you’re going to feel lighter, happier and more carefree. However, this doesn’t mean you’re going to feel this way 100% of the time. Truth is, your good hormonal mood is a general trend. But, it can be spoiled by any of the usual mood-crushers, like skipping meals, getting into a fender bender and watching your sweetie put the empty milk carton back in the fridge for the umpteenth time. The good news is that once you’re past these little bumps in the road, rising hormones promise to get you feeling cheery quickly once again!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You shine at parties, meetings, classes and other social events this week. And it’s not only because your high estrogen and testosterone are making you chatty, funny and confident. Rising estrogen is also helping you stand out in the crowd as it prompts subtle changes in your appearance that make you more attractive and churns out scentless pheromones that attract hotties to you like a magnet!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: As estrogen reaches lower levels and subdued progesterone rises, you may be feeling a twinge of regret over antics Week 2 You pulled last week, like blowing your diet by eating an entire quart of ice cream (and not even the low-fat kind), getting wasted at your lil’ sister’s birthday party or throwing away half your wardrobe because you thought your clothes made you look boring. In retrospect, as progesterone makes you a bit more serious, it can be hard to fathom why you were so impulsive.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: During the first half of your cycle when estrogen and testosterone were high and making you feel optimistic and inspired, your focus was more on big ideas and the overall picture. Projects seemed effortless to plan, your mate seemed like the perfect person for you for the rest of your life and work or school was actually fulfilling. During the second half of your cycle, well, things have changed. Plunging hormones have you honing in on the details and, as a result, you’re taking a closer look at explosive budgets for projects, seeing that your mate’s shortcomings may mean a dumping is in order, and the aggravations at work or school cancel out their measly rewards. This doesn’t mean you have to give up on everything altogether. Instead, try to strike a balance between the over-optimist in you and the uber-pessimist by understanding that everything has upsides and downsides and a little flexibility may be called for.
