Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Wednesday, July 13, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You may notice that it’s easier to recall dates, facts and words, you’re learning new information more easily and you’re more eloquent than you’ve been in days. Credit goes to rising estrogen and testosterone which, study after study shows, sharpen brain skills and verbal ability as they climb.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You’re feeling more ambitious today thanks to high testosterone, which boosts your competitiveness and desire to get ahead. As a result, you may set your sights on setting up a new business, ask your boss for a promotion or dream up the perfect project that will get you the fame and fortune you so richly deserve.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Take advantage of rising progesterone’s sedating effect to savor something you love today, like your first sip of coffee, the cool breeze on your face or a kiss from your honey. According to research, taking just a few moments to appreciate these kinds of positive moments will make you happier all day long.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You may be pressing “delete” on Facebook posts or regretting what you say today. As estrogen plunges, you have less patience, which can make you blow your stack and say some pretty cutting remarks. But, this same hormonal plunge is taking away your confidence, making you worry about hurting someone’s feelings, spurring retaliation or even triggering a lawsuit!
