My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: Things take a turn for the purse today. You’re spending like it’s your job even if you don’t have the money to cover the bills. Blame goes to rising testosterone, which makes you far more impulsive. And stores just love this hormonal effect since most of their marketing money goes toward triggering impulse buys!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You may find yourself thanking someone profusely for a relatively small or routine favor, such as giving you free extra whipped cream on your frappuccino, bagging your groceries for you or picking up a pen you dropped. Why? High estrogen is boosting feel-good chemicals in your brain, which amplifies your positive response to nice deeds!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: During the first two weeks of your cycle, your libido rose along with your testosterone level. This week, you’re experiencing a distinct lack of lust as testosterone nosedives and the libido-quashing hormone progesterone rises. What’s more, if you do end up going for the O either with a pal or on your own, orgasms will be harder to reach and have less intensity than during the first half of your cycle. Now this doesn’t mean sexy fun is totally off the table. Just set your sights a little lower and you’ll still enjoy the feel-good brain chemicals that rush out anytime you get physical.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Be careful of letting your imagination run away with you today. With estrogen and testosterone on the downswing, you may be tempted to think the worst of anything, for instance, that a little red patch on your elbow means you’re having a bad reaction to a medicine, the electric company will shut off your power if you’re a week late with the payment or that a minor mistake at work may cost you your job. Before jumping to conclusions and freaking yourself out, take a deep breath and consult with a pal or family member who can give you an objective opinion.
