My Hormonology Which week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen and testosterone rise

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: If you haven’t taken a trip in awhile, you may be suffering from a serious case of cabin fever as rising estrogen and testosterone urge you to go explore the world and have fun. Take time today to research some trip ideas. Looking forward to a getaway, even a short day trip, is proven to boost your mood all the way till you leave!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: You may push yourself a little harder today, for instance, go an extra 20 minutes on the treadmill, stay late at at work or party all night with friends. That’s because high estrogen and testosterone are pumping up your energy and mood, making it easier and more rewarding to put a little extra effort into whatever it is you do!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then rise again

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Try to identify your most energetic time of day, for instance, are you rarin’ to go right out of bed or tend to hit your stride in the afternoon? Once you pinpoint the height of your daily pep, aim to do the bulk of your work and errands during those hours. Progesterone, a sedating hormone, is rising today, which makes you feel even more tired and worn out during the slower parts of the day, lowering the likelihood of getting anything productive done then.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of your cycle
Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone plunge

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: You may get tempted to throw away souvenirs, gifts and left-behind items from ex-partners, past friends and old coworkers, perhaps, because seeing them makes you think of times you warred with them or because you feel it’s time to sever all ties to them. However, I advise putting the items away somewhere out of sight, then waiting till your Week 1 rolls around till making your final decision about whether or not to banish them for good. Why? Plunging estrogen and testosterone in Week 4 are making you more likely to focus on the negative aspects of that relationship and overlook all the fun times you had or even the practicality of the item you’re about to chuck (for instance, maybe your ex left behind a high-end wok that would cost a lot to replace). By contrast, in Week 1 rising estrogen and testosterone temper your mood and make it easier to remember the fun times you had with this person, so you may actually want a remembrance of him or her or you may realize just how much you need the item in question.
