My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Today’s hormone horoscope: Things take a turn for the purse today. You’re spending like it’s your job even if you don’t have the money to cover the bills. Blame goes to rising testosterone, which makes you far more impulsive. And stores just love this hormonal effect since most of their marketing money goes toward triggering impulse buys!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormone horoscope: You may find yourself thanking someone profusely for a relatively small or routine favor, such as giving you free extra whipped cream on your frappuccino, bagging your groceries or picking up a pen you dropped. Why? High estrogen is boosting feel-good chemicals in your brain, which amplifies your positive response to nice deeds!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormone horoscope: Today your voice becomes a bit more monotone, your smile is a little smaller and you may be using fewer hand gestures. The reason? As sedating progesterone rises, it brings down your emotional energy and makes you a tad less expressive than you were during the first two weeks of your cycle.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of your cycle
Today’s hormone horoscope: Okay, there’s no denying that you may be on a moody merry-do-round today as estrogen plunges, taking your mood-stabilizing serotonin down with it. However, it’s worth noting that when you get into a funk, crying jag or temper flare, it’s not permanent. Your body’s moody reaction to its hormonal plunge should only last a few minutes. So, if you can take a few deep breaths and wait it out, you’ll be back to your calm, serene self shortly.
