Which week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: It’s going to be hard to resist a little, okay a lot, of impulse spending today, for instance, buying a new nail polish, outfit or a weird food you pass by in the supermarket and will probably never eat but are curious about anyway. Blame for your spending ways goes straight to rising testosterone, which makes you more impulsive, and rising estrogen, which gives you the optimism that you can afford some splurging on non-necessities.
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Careful out there, Week 2 Gal. High estrogen and testosterone are putting your head in the clouds and making you prone to missing important details, like that a car is coming at you as you cross the road, your boss is lurking behind you as you surf the Internet or that a big pile of stuff in your closet is about to come tumbling out in your direction the moment you open the door.
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You may get a little irritated as your body takes a turn: You likely have less energy, are bloating, constipated, battling acne, hungrier, saddled with cravings and, if it’s the first half of your Week 3, can’t get a decent night’s sleep. The culprit? Lower levels of estrogen and rising progesterone, a combination that can make you wonder why every week of your cycle can’t be Week 2 when these problems were few and far between.
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Unlike Week 2 gals, you may be hyper-aware of things around you. What’s more, you’re prone to putting a negative spin on why they’re there in the first place, for instance, you may see a car coming at you as you cross the road and accuse the driver of deliberately trying to run into you, you may notice your boss looking in your direction and think it’s because she’s not happy with your performance or you may theorize that your significant other purposely piled all the stuff in the closet so it would all fall out on top of you the moment you opened the door to be able to capture it on video and laugh about it. The reason for your eagle eye and suspicious mind goes to plunging estrogen, which makes you more vigilant about your environment and more apt to see the darker side of things.
