Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Tuesday, March 22, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You’re likely to put forth suggestions to your family, friends, boss, even fellow shoppers at the grocery store. And it’s not just because rising estrogen is making you chatty and rising testosterone is making you bold. This hormonal duo is also making you think more quickly, so you’re coming up with more ideas, putting together information faster and remembering details that may have been lost to brain fog just a week ago when these hormones were plunging!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You become more sensitive to taste and scent today, picking up on subtle flavors and aromas that others miss. That’s the result of rising estrogen, which hones your senses as it climbs. This makes it a perfect day to sample a new dish or beverage or to visit a flower shop or garden!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Thoughts of sex are few today due to rising progesterone, which dampens libido. But that doesn’t mean you don’t want to cuddle with your sweetheart. Just the opposite! Known as the bonding hormone, progesterone has you enjoying hugs, kisses, caresses, hand-holding and other types of warm affection.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Woe to the smarmy salesperson, backstabbing coworker or sneaky frenemy who tries to pull one over on you today. Plunging estrogen and testosterone make you a bit more suspicious of people and their intentions, so you’re less likely to be duped or fall prey to a scam.
