My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You’re open to experimenting today as rising estrogen piques your curiosity. But, this hormone may not climb high enough to actually push you into trying something totally new. So, you’ll likely be happiest with new twists on old themes, for instance, switching the kind of syrup you pour on your favorite waffles or trying a different flavor of your favorite lip gloss brand.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: High estrogen and testosterone are lifting your mood, but that doesn’t mean you won’t lose your cool. Fact is, high estrogen is making you vocal and high testosterone is boosting your confidence and impulsiveness, leading you to say what’s on your mind when provoked.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Chatting and making small talk with friends, neighbors and coworkers seems like so much of a chore today as rising progesterone makes you feel quiet and subdued. What a difference from the gab-fast last week when high estrogen had you talking up a storm!

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: During the first half of your cycle when estrogen and testosterone were high and making you feel optimistic and inspired, your focus was more on big ideas and the overall picture. Projects seemed effortless to plan, your mate seemed like the perfect person for you for the rest of your life and work or school was actually fulfilling. During the second half of your cycle, well, things have changed. Plunging hormones have you honing in on the details and, as a result, you’re taking a closer look at explosive budgets for projects, seeing that your mate’s shortcomings may mean a dumping is in order, and the aggravations at work or school cancel out their meager rewards. This doesn’t mean you have to give up on everything altogether. Instead, try to strike a balance between the over-optimist in you and the uber-pessimist by understanding that everything has upsides and downsides and a little flexibility may be called for.
