My HormonologyWhich week are you on in your monthly cycle? Find out what it reveals about what your day has in store:

Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen and testosterone rise

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: You could be tempted to bite off more than you can chew today. For instance, you may add a lot of tasks to your to-do list or commit yourself to many time-consuming responsibilities. The reason? Rising estrogen pumps up your optimism, making you believe you can fit it all in somehow!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 14 (or ovulation)
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: You may notice that you’re gesturing more and your voice is a little louder today. What’s going on? High estrogen and testosterone are making you more exuberant and confident–and that comes out in your body language and the way you speak!

Week 3
Day 15 (or the day after ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then rise again

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: You’ll likely experience constipation, bloating and perhaps a little indigestion today as rising progesterone slows down movement in your digestive tract and prompts water retention. For a bit of relief, sip water throughout the day, which helps move things along in your intestines and prompts your body to shed excess fluid.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of your cycle
Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone plunge

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: You may find it difficult to remember words, names or facts you knew down pat during the first half of your cycle. The problem is plunging estrogen. As this hormone drops, it puts a damper on your memory.
