Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Tuesday, February 21, 2012

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You may be more easily inspired by other people’s achievements and personal stories as rising estrogen and testosterone amp up brain chemicals that make you get excited. As a result, you’ll probably be tempted to try to go after a goal someone else has achieved, for instance, starting a new business, writing a novel or finally mastering that hand stand in yoga class.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Today’s high estrogen and testosterone boost your confidence, which may make you feel luckier than usual. As a result, you may buy a lottery ticket, risk heading to the movie theater at the last minute hoping there will still be good seats left, give a cutie your number or take other chances.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You may be more likely to donate money to a cause, volunteer your time or help out someone else in some way. Rising progesterone, the so-called mothering hormone, is bringing out your nurturing and caring side, making you want to lend a hand where you can.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You’ll likely be bothered by more aches today due to plunging estrogen, which lowers the brain’s level of pain-masking chemicals. The take-away here: If you’ve got a bad back, sore knee or other chronic condition, baby your body to avoid a flare-up.
