Which week are you on in your cycle?
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: Try to avoid saying “yes” too much today. Rising estrogen is making you overly optimistic that you can take on any project, responsibility and task that folks ask you to do. But, you may be forgetting about all the other tasks you’ve already agreed to, which can lead to schedule overload and the kind of stress you probably don’t need.
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: A word of warning: You can end up stepping uncomfortably close into people’s personal spaces and keeping them talking long after they’ve wanted to be let go. The reason? High estrogen and testoterone are making you want to connect, chat, touch and flirt. And, in your high-hormone excitement, you may not realize that the other person you’re talking with may be in a lower-hormoned non-social mood or simply not as naturally gregarious as you.
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Try to take the pace of your life down a notch to match the progesterone slow-down you’re experiencing. You’ll be happier by taking on fewer projects, accepting fewer invites and pacing yourself through a workout or other rigorous routine. That way, you won’t completely poop out before sundown arrives.
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: This week is when your inner absent-minded professor comes out. You’re a little muddled, forgetful and uncoordinated as plunging estrogen and testosterone bring down your brain powers. But, this doesn’t mean you’ve lost major IQ points. Truth is, you can still conjure up amazing ideas, create beautiful art, write poetry, take photos and do anything else that requires imagination. That’s because you’re more in touch with your emotional right brain, which lets you tap into the kind of magical thinking that inspires your most creative moments.
