Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Tuesday, August 16, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: Rising testosterone is amping up your libido all week. But, if you really want to get so distracted that you don’t get any work done, try sipping coffee or tea. Research shows that caffeine charges up a woman’s libido, super-sizing your sex drive in minutes!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You may drive the people around you a little crazy as you talk out loud, sing to yourself, chat to your pets or plants or come up with any other way to get your gab on. High estrogen is making you chatty and high confidence-boosting testosterone doesn’t have you the least bit self-conscious about where or how express your verbal side!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: In the previous two weeks, rising testosterone made you comfortable leading a project or going it alone. This week, testosterone dips—which makes the desire to work independently dip with it—and progesterone rises—which has you more comfortable working alongside others and collaborating as part of a team.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Think that an angry PMS mood is all bad? Maybe not. A new study in the journal Psychological Science reveals that anger activates an area of the brain that makes you motivated to go after something you want, like landing a new job, running for public office, winning a competition or getting that hottie!
