My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormone horoscope: Thoughts of a secret crush will be more frequent as Week 1 progresses. The reason? Testosterone, a hormone responsible for your libido, climbs higher and higher throughout the first half of your cycle, and the higher this hormone goes, the more intense your sex drive becomes!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormone horoscope: You’re more likely to get your hands dirty today, for instance, by digging a garden, painting a chair or cleaning the gross stuff out of the bathtub drain. That’s because high estrogen and testosterone are making you less squeamish about getting a little goo on your paws and more interested in simply getting a task done no matter how filthy you get!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormone horoscope: Today, you’ll be less likely to travel far or to a place you’ve never been before, which is a big contrast to Week 2 when you jumped at the first opportunity to take a long trip and uncover new areas! Why the big change? Estrogen and testosterone dip and progesterone rises—and this hormonal combo makes you feel less safe and secure when far from home or in a spot you’re unfamiliar with.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormone horoscope: You may end up yelling at doors, coffee tables, chair legs and other inanimate objects that happen to jump into your path. Truth is, random furniture isn’t out to get you. Your problem is that plunging estrogen is making you a bit less coordinated, so you’re clumsier than during the other weeks of your cycle. It would probably be wise to keep a bag of frozen peas in the freezer so you can pull it out whenever you stub your toe on an ottoman or hip-check a doorway.
