My Hormonology

Which week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen and testosterone rise

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Week 1 is the time to make Week 2 super-awesome. Since you know your estrogen and testosterone are going to be peaking next week, thereby, making you more upbeat, energetic, brainy, beautiful and just downright amazing, use Week 1 of your cycle to plan to take advantage of your high hormone phase, for instance, by looking for an exciting event to attend, starting a killer project, signing up for an open-mic night, asking a cutie out on a date or throwing a party!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Watch your spending, Week 2 gals! High estrogen is boosting your mood and high testosterone is making you super-impulsive. Together this money-spending duo could have you ignoring price tags, budget constraints and practicality as you shop. My advice: Keep all receipts in case play-it-safe progesterone and lower levels of estrogen and testosterone in Week 3 make you decide it all has to go back.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then rise again

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Meet up with close pals for a delicious meal sometime in your Week 3. Rising progesterone is slowing you down, which makes you enjoy quiet, quality time with best buds. What’s more, this hormone is amping up your desire for your favorite foods, making it a perfect time to visit a restaurant you love or whip up your best recipes!

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of your cycle
Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone plunge

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Yesterday, I had the afternoon off. A rare treat. But, it was also the first day of my Week 4, one of my most irritable days of the month. So, before I headed off to do a little shopping and run long-due errands, I kept this thought in mind: “Gab, it’s your Week 4. Expect everything you want to do to be thwarted in some way. That way, if it is, it’s no big deal and if everything goes smoothly, you come out on top.” And it really worked! Whenever my plans were unexpectedly changed or things didn’t work out like I hoped, I just rolled with the punches. So, I recommend this strategy with you, too, Week 4 gal: Expect the plans you make to not work out like you want them to and have a backup strategy in place ahead of time. You’ll avert Week 4 plunging estrogen irritability as a result!
