Which week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: If it’s the first half of your Week 1, you’ll probably have a little residual Week 4-like feelings: you may be tired, a bit blue or uninterested in socializing. That’s because, even though estrogen and testosterone are on the rise, in the first few days of your cycle they’re still at low levels and may not be high enough yet for their awesomey goodness to kick in. But there’s a lot to look forward to! That’s because by the second half of your Week 1, estrogen and testosterone have risen to a point where you’re fully enjoying the bump in energy, mental clarity, focus, mood and desire to socialize these two hormones are giving you!
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Caution, Week 2 gal: You’re more impulsive this week than any other week of your cycle due to high testosterone. This could mean a lot of looking before you leap, for instance, quitting a job to move to a new town on a whim, accepting an offer of a date with someone who is so totally wrong for you just to see what would happen or splurging on a big-ticket item that completely busts your budget. While the outcome of split-second decisions can be interesting or even life-changing in a good way, to avoid any potential negative fall-out, before making a bold move, ask a friend or family member about what they think about what you’re about to do first.
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Unlike Week 2 gals, you may spend too much time mulling over decisions, even easy ones, like what to get for lunch. The problem? Lower levels of estrogen and testosterone combined with brain-fogging, play-it-safe rising progesterone makes you want to put more time and effort into making choices, yet at the same time, makes it harder to weigh your options to figure out which one stands out as the best.
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You’ll be happiest around people, places, foods and other things you know and love today. That’s because, with estrogen and testosterone plunging, familiar favorites bring you the type of uplifting comfort that can thwart premenstrual moodiness or irritation. So, make plans to treat yourself to a beloved snack, watch a rerun of your favorite TV show or call a BFF to hang out!
