My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: If it’s the first half your Week 1, chances are, low-but-rising estrogen has you still a bit on the quiet side, so you’re less likely to pipe up in conversation or talk someone’s ear off. If it’s the second half of your Week 1, well, anyone within a 5-foot radius is fair game for your verbal volleys. That’s because a higher level of estrogen is inspiring you to talk up a storm and a higher level of testosterone is making you more confident in what you have to say, so you’re more likely to share what you think!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Get your weekend started early, Week 2 lady! High estrogen and testosterone are giving you the drive to dare to go out on a schoolnight and whoop it up! Warning: If you ignore this hormonal duo’s pleas for a wild night out, you could be hit with pangs of regret the following morning as you’re staring down the barrell of another hum-drum day with nothing to remember about your evening except some Office reruns and warmed up leftovers!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You may be reining in your spending today…or at least taking a moment or two to think about your finances before splurging. That’s because shop-loving estrogen and testosterone are edged out by play-it-safe progesterone this week. As a result, you may think of bills, your retirement fun or other money obligations that are more important than that super-cool sale that’s just calling  your name.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You may find yourself switching the TV from the news to a funny sit-com, ordering a bunch of appetizers instead of one boring entree, trying a new color lipgloss or doing something else that brings a smile to your face. The reason? As estrogen plunges this week, it threatens to spoil your mood, so researchers believe women subconsciously gravitate toward happiness-inducing activities as a way to ward off or reverse premenstrual blues or irritability!
