Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Thursday, March 10, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You may take the time to notice something beautiful outside today, such as a flower bud, cool breeze or butterfly, as rising estrogen sparks a rise in feel-good brain chemicals that inspire you to take a greater interest in natural wonders.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: A secret crush is on your mind (or in your dreams) today as rising testosterone revs up your libido and your desire to connect with others. Very, very sexy others.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Thinking about cleaning out closets and getting rid of stuff you no longer need or use? You might want to wait till Week 1 or Week 2 to start purging. Lower levels of estrogen and rising progesterone are making you more sentimental about that old sweater you never, ever wore, that coffee table that doesn’t go with your new decorating scheme and the cow clock that moos on the hour every hour. As a result, it’ll either be harder to put them in bags to donate or sell or, if you do manage to get rid of them, you may regret it and wish you hadn’t.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Minor irritations about your home that you ignored during the first two weeks of your cycle—like the leaking faucet, peeling paint or mismatched sofa pillows—start to seriously irk you this week. Why? Plunging estrogen makes you less patient with little problems and makes them more glaring than during other weeks of your cycle.
