My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen and testosterone rise

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Rising estrogen is making you chattier than you were last week and is boosting your mood. As a result, you may strike up conversations with strangers on line at the supermarket, stop a woman in the street to compliment her earrings or even talk with a neighbor or coworker who you normally avoid just to get your gab on!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Today you’re using higher notes and talking in a sing-songy way, you’re swaying your hips, you’re smiling broadly and you’re getting physically closer to people and touching them more. All these behaviors are the result of high estrogen, which is pushing you to flirt up a storm!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then rise again

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: You may feel like your tongue is tied up in knots and you can’t remember the exact word you want to say. Blame goes to progesterone. As it rises, it makes it more difficult to express yourself in conversation by putting a damper on verbal ability and recall.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of your cycle
Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone plunge

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Estrogen and testosterone plunge this week and, as they decrease your brain’s feel-good chemicals, they’re taking your confidence about money matters with them. As a result, you may feel a sense of worry or dread about bills that are due now or that will be due in the future. Just remember that descending hormones are making you see things as slightly worse than they really are, so before taking desperate money measures, such as submitting your application at the nearest pole dancing club or selling your gold fillings, take a deep breath, then work on a practical budget. Preferably, with plenty of PMS-soothing pizza and frozen yogurt within reach.
