Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Thursday, August 25, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: Friends can count on you for support, a helping hand and to be the rock when they’re in crisis today. Rising estrogen amps up your desire to be social, reach out to others and play a helpful role.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You may be tempted to try cooking a new dish you saw prepared on TV, buy new shoes you saw in a store window, take up running because a friend recommended it or be inspired to do something else new today. The reason? High estrogen and testosterone make you more open to new experiences and more likely to immediately try them out rather than wait!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Rising progesterone gives you the urge to hide inside your shell like a turtle today rather than go exploring, speak your mind or try something new. That’s because this hormone has a quieting effect on you and has you preferring to stay close to familiar people and surroundings.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Your premenstrual week has the potential to be such a drag, right? Well, here’s one reason to enjoy it: You’re less likely to be duped by fishy-looking emails, fast-talking salespeople and frenemies who seem to have turned a new leaf and want to patch things up. Credit goes to plunging estrogen, which makes you look more closely and critically at what you see and hear.
