Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Monday, September 5, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: If it’s the first half of your Week 1, then you may feel a bit wiped out and snappish as menstruation saps you of energy and triggers pelvic pain. If it’s the second half of your Week 1, menstrual woes should be giving way to rising estrogen’s energy- and mood-boosting effects, making you feel lighter and brighter!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Careful, Week 2 gal: You may be tempted to go overboard when drinking, eating or spending money. The reason? High estrogen and testosterone are making it easier to get swept up in the moment and abandon all cares about the consequences!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: People may find it hard to read your emotions today since you’re less likely to use dramatic facial expressions and hand gestures and you aren’t talking a whole lot either. That’s because rising progesterone, a sedating hormone, makes you less expressive than you were in the first two weeks of your cycle, which can make some folks wonder if you’re happy, sad or somewhere in between.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You may be in the mood to reminisce about people, places, holiday celebrations or things you liked in your past. As estrogen plunges, it makes you more reflective and wistful, which makes you long for familiar and comforting experiences you may not have right now.
