My HormonologyWhich week are you on in your cycle?

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You may find it difficult to focus today as rising estrogen amps up both your energy and curiousity about the world around you. As a result, you easily spin off in a totally different direction (and another one, then another one) when working on a project, get sucked into an Internet vortex that makes you hop from site to site or end up turning a one-errand run into a whole afternoon of cruising around town.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: High estrogen has you talking like it’s your job! You’re chatting to yourself, singing out loud, catching up with friends, family and neighbors and holding full-fledged conversations with your pets (maybe your plants, too!).

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: If you’ve got an evening appointment, class, meeting or movie to go, you better keep your eye on the clock around 8 pm. During Week 3 and most of Week 4, research shows that your hormones trick your inner body clock into thinking you have more time around 8 pm than you really do, which can end up making you late.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You may have a real Princess and the Pea situtation going on today where something feels off, but you can’t quite place it. For instance, you may feel too warm or too cold. Your sweater may be too itchy or too tight. Your bra may pinch you or your shoes may cramp your toes. Why? As estrogen plunges, it makes you more sensitive to little discomforts you’d normally overlook during other weeks of your cycle.
