Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Monday, October 17, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You’re likely to put magazines, lip gloss, candy, a keychain and other little, unnecessary purchases in your shopping cart today. The reason? Rising testosterone is making you drawn toward impulse buys and rising estrogen is making you feel like you have more money to spend!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You may say something pretty shocking to someone today. That’s because high estrogen and testosterone are taking off your filter and letting whatever thoughts that pop into your head slip right out of your mouth. Could be interesting!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You may end up procrastinating today, for instance, putting off errands, finishing a project or cleaning up. Why? As progesterone rises, it saps your pep, which makes it harder to muster the kind of motivation you need to fight that whole “an object at rest stays at rest” thing.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You may feel unappreciated for all that you do for your family, friends, boss or teacher. It’s quite possible that everyone is showing you the same amount of appreciation they did when you were in the first half of your cycle, however, today’s plunging estrogen is making you more apt to see the world with a critical eye and, therefore, more likely to notice when folks don’t say “thank you” or “good job” instead of when they do.
