Which week are you on in your cycle?

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You may feel like flirting with a secret crush, taking steps to find a new love or spicing up the heat in your current relationship. As testosterone rises today, it sparks your libido. And today’s rising estrogen is making you want to put romance on the front burner.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: It’s roll up your sleeves time. High estrogen and testoterone are pumping up your resolve and inner strength, making you feel like you can (and will) accomplish just about anything you set your mind to. This can-do spirit may spill over to other people as well, making you want to push friends, family and co-workers to do more. Unfortunately, they may not share your over-achieving frame of mind. And, if that’s the case, you may be happier refocusing all that cheerleading back on yourself and your own goals rather than waste it on those undeserving slackers.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: This may turn out to be a pretty food-centric day. Why? Rising progesterone amps up your hunger and desire for ooey, gooey, salty and/or sweet goodies. You’re also feeling a tad more self-reflective this week, so it may stir up thoughts, ideas or memories that make you turn to your favorite foods for comfort.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Plunging estrogen turns you into less of a people-person today as it makes everyone’s most annoying characteristics far more prominent. As a result, you may be craving a little alone time to watch a movie, read a book, eat your lunch, practice guitar, exercise or just do some work without being interrupted. And you may wonder (aloud, loudly) why some people simply can’t respect your need for space.
