My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthly cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen and testosterone rise

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: With people-shmoozing estrogen rising today, you’re happiest when reconnecting with friends, family and co-workers you didn’t see over the weekend. This hormone is also making you chatty so you’ll probably want to block out time for a long, long, long lunch to catch up on all the latest news and gossip.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Dare to start something new today, such as a novel, music album, clothing line, pottery business or whatever it is you love. Week 2 is about big dreams and putting them into action. That’s because you have high estrogen and testosterone energy and optimism egging you on. These cheerleading hormones don’t get any higher than they do in this week, so if you miss your opportunity to harness all that hormonal rah-rah-rah, you’ll have to wait again till next month to do it!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then rise again

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: It’s probably apparent by now that the high energy, supersized libido, killer memory, sharp wit and buoyant optimism you enjoyed during the first half of your cycle has been replaced with fatigue, a low sex drive, mental fogginess and a more realistic outlook. Blame goes to lower levels of estrogen coupled with rising progesterone. But fret not: The second half of your cycle has its benefits, too! That’s because it gives you a chance to sit back and reflect on past decisions and their outcomes, which helps you make sure you’re still on the right course; it prompts you to relax, which helps you recharge after all those high-hormone days of running around; and, it slows you down, which gives you a chance to enjoy the subtler things in life, like your first sip of coffee or the warm rays of sunshine on your skin.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of your cycle
Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone plunge

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Keep a close eye on your keys, purse, lunch and other important items today. There’s a good chance you could misplace them as plunging estrogen and testosterone fog up your brain and put a damper on your short-term memory.
